The Eyhorne Street Woodturner
I am a woodturner who turns for pleasure and dispose of my surplus output privately, at Fairs, Exhibitions, 'Wood'N'Things', High Street, Rye East Sussex, Art Barn Studio, High Street, West Malling, Kent, Oad Street Gallery, Oad Street, Sittingbourne Kent and in my local village shop ‘Christoper’s’ in Hollingbourne, Kent where there is a limited number of pieces on display.
I live in the village of Hollingbourne in Kent, England, I am a member of the Association of Woodturners of Great Britain and secretary of
the Kent Branch.
I use predominantly local sourced woods; Elm, Beech, Oak, Sycamore, Acacia, Apple, Pear, Plum and the like to turn objects which are both useful and decorative.
Pieces of my work have travelled far and wide for example: Zimbabwe, Canada, Germany, France, Spain, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, and Guernsey and of course here at home in the United Kingdom. Why not come and see my work for yourself.
Whilst as a turner I like to be as creative as possible I appreciate that the majority of my customers want an article which is both decorative and useful and that is the market at which I aim.
I do turn items which are purely decorative and accept limited commission based work.
You will observe from looking at the photographs of my work that I turn a number of pieces that are either natural or bark edged they, together with larger hollow forms give me a great deal of satisfaction.
I will try to update this site regularly to ensure that my latest work can be seen. If any pieces interest you please do not hesitate to contact me either on the telephone number above or by email : david@eyhornestreet.com
